Barbara Ann Corcoran

Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the business to NRT for $66 million. In the following months she resigned from the business. Corcoran has participated in 12 of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, the largest being a $350,000 investment that included 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a middle class Irish-Catholic family. Florence, her mother, was an exemplary homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving between jobs and the next during Corcoran’s childhood. In times, her family relied on the delivery of food for free from a local grocery store. Corcoran says that her father was drunk who did her mother a disservice and condescension. Corcoran was a struggle throughout her education, later learning that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran, who had failed several courses in her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
